Million Dollar participants/luncheon hosts brave going cold turkey from dining out: 100 Aldergrove families are eating at home while at the same time preparing a special luncheon to boost entire community

(by Staff, Langley Advance)

What would you do if you were challenged to eat only home-cooked meals every day for a week, to brownbag it while on the run?

No dining out.

No coffee breaks.

Just good old home cooking for one week.

Would you have to increase your cooking and meal repertoire?

What if, during that same week, while you were going cold turkey from dining out, you were also challenged to plan, orchestrate, implement and host the social event of the season for more than 200 guests, celebrities, and dignitaries?

All of this is being done in hopes of raising Aldergrove’s net worth as a community by $100,000.

It is the challenge that participants of the Aldergrove Million Dollar Neighbourhood are currently undertaking.

They have to host an elaborate noon luncheon on Sunday, Oct. 2, with the help of celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak. A surprise celebrity will also be in attendance.

Tickets for the “Autumn Wine and Dine” at Mt. Lehman Winery are $250 per seat.
